Something BIG is happening in March. University of Phoenix and the American Red Cross have teamed up on a nationwide virtual blood drive, Give BIG—which stands for Blood’s Incredible Gift—and our military community is invited to take part. When you donate blood, you give the ultimate gift.
Give BIG is happening March 1 to 15, 2013. To participate in the virtual blood drive, visit the American Red Cross registration page. There, you’ll find a list of donation dates. Choose the date and time that works best for you. After you’ve given blood at your chosen location, register your donation at Give BIG. It’s by registering post-donation that your participation in this exciting event will be officially recorded.
Four UOPX locations—Tucson, AZ; Southfield, MI; Tempe, AZ; and Livermore, CA—will be hosting blood drives on March 6 or 7, 2013. Military members or veterans, and their families living near these four blood drive donation centers are encouraged to make an appointment. If the American Red Cross does not have a donation site in your state, you can still participate by donating at your community’s blood bank and registering your donation through Give BIG.
